The problem
Five UAE businesses — e-commerce, attestation and notary, a law firm, real estate and litigation — shared one WhatsApp number. Every message had to be read by a human before it could be pointed at the right business, and nothing guaranteed a reply.
What was built
A switchboard that classifies each incoming enquiry by what it actually asks, in English or Arabic, and routes it to the right business. When the signal is ambiguous it asks the customer instead of guessing. The AI pauses automatically the moment a human agent replies. Operator sign-in, a separate administrator tier, and a public QR link hub for customers.
The engineering decision
The interesting part is the governance gate. Every AI reply is scanned for personally identifiable information and checked by an independent grounding judge before it is allowed to send, with a stricter bar applied to the law-firm node. If any part of the pipeline fails, a fallback reply still goes out and the conversation is flagged for human follow-up — so no customer is ever left in silence.

One number, five businesses
Modelled each business as its own tenant in PostgreSQL, with row-level security so a query can only ever see the business it is serving.
- 02
Routing
Incoming WhatsApp messages arrive by webhook, are classified by intent in English or Arabic, and are routed to the right business. When the signal is ambiguous, the customer is asked instead of guessed.
- 03
Governed AI replies
Every reply is scanned for personal data and checked by an independent grounding judge before it sends, with a stricter bar for the law-firm business. If anything fails, a safe fallback still goes out and a human is flagged.

Tools for the team
Operator sign-in with an administrator tier, a shared team inbox with notes and response-time targets, and an admin dashboard across all five businesses.
- 05
Production
Runs on a Hostinger VPS in Docker behind Caddy; database migrations are applied by hand before each deploy. WhatsApp App Review approved by Meta in September 2026.
